The Buffalo Bills entering the playoffs would usually come with tailgating, gathering with friends and family and other celebratory Bills traditions. However, as with many events in 2020, this will have to be a little different.

Thomas Russo, MD, division chief of Infectious Diseases at UBMD Internal Medicine, encourages Bills fans to enjoy the game safely.

  • Be sure to stay within your household or pod. Treat this event like any other one in 2020 to avoid it becoming a super-spreader event.
  • Have virtual watch parties. Love to see your friend's face when the Bills make an amazing play? You don't have to miss out on it when it's a virtual gathering.
  • Show your Bills fandom from your own house! Share your Bills love by sharing photos on your favorite social media accounts.

For those attending the game, follow all public health precautions and those determined by the Bills organization. To help reduce your risk, maximize your time masked. Try to avoid or reduce eating or drinking at the game, which will allow you to keep your mask up.

For more information, check out Dr. Russo’s interview with WIVB.

While the interview covers a lot of updated COVID-19 information, the Bills discussion begins at the 5-minute mark.

Let's all stay safe and GO BILLS!
