Dr. Zachary Wikerd is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University at Buffalo, where he also serves as a clinician educator in the Hospitalist service at Erie County Medical Center.
Dr. Wikerd commenced his medical journey in Ireland at the Royal College of Surgeons. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve - MetroHealth and further specialized with a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His comprehensive training has endowed him with the expertise to manage a diverse array of illnesses, with a strong emphasis on personalized patient care.
Dr. Wikerd's research and professional interests encompass resident and student education, healthcare quality improvement, value-based care, and developing an 'Age-Friendly Health System' at Erie County Medical Center.
