Professional Summary:

As a native of northeastern Ohio, Dr. McGee completed his undergraduate studies at Baldwin Wallace University. He began his medical carrier in EMS as a Basic EMT, and later went on to obtain his Paramedic Certification. He operated with several EMS agencies and hospitals throughout northeastern Ohio prior to attending medical school. Upon graduation from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. McGee attended SUNY University of Buffalo’s Residency in Emergency Medicine. Dr. McGee served as Chief Resident from 2008-2009. Since completing his residency in 2009, Dr. McGee has remained a faculty member for the department of Emergency Medicine and EMS Fellowship. He holds the title of Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency medicine, and is dual board certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services.

Since 2018, Dr McGee has served as the Chief Medical Offer for the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. He oversees all medical operation throughout the agency, to include both Correctional Health and Operational Medicine. As a TEMS provider, Dr. McGee has received recognition for his action during several operations. He was instrumental in the creation of the ECSO Medical Response Unit (MRU), composed of law enforcement officers cross-trained as EMTS. Members of this unit are able to provide advanced medical care in high risk environments, beyond the scope of traditional EMS.

Dr. McGee also serves as Medical Director to Erie County EMS. His areas of academic interest are the fields of Operational Medicine and Correctional Health. He has authored several texts related to this field. He is an active member with the American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Correctional Physicians, and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.

Dr. McGee has previously held the position of Chief of Emergency Medicine for the VA WNY Health System and is involved with several federal law enforcement and EMS agencies including the 914th AW/MSG/ASTS, and US Border Patrol.
