Professional Summary:

Dr. O‘Brien‘s clinical practice is split between shifts in the Emergency Department and operational medicine via field response. As the Medical Director for Erie County Homeland Security & Emergency Services, he provides medical support to local EMS, fire, and law enforcement agencies. Additionally, he regularly takes shifts as a Flight Physician with Mercy Flight of Western New York.

Dr. O‘Brien‘s research has centered around cardiac arrest outcomes and prehospital resuscitation. He and his colleagues in the EMS Division are currently working to enhance cardiac arrest survival in the City of Buffalo and its surrounding communities.
