Professional Summary:

Dr. Werthman is a board-certified emergency medicine physician working clinically out of Veterans Health Administration and Buffalo General Hospital. Dr Werthman completed her residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she also was chief resident. She serves as the Assistant Medical Director of the Emergency Department at the VA. She proudly has established the VA as the only Level 2 geriatric accredited Emergency department in Western New York through ACEP. Dr Werthman also is the chair of the UBMD Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider leadership committee. Her primary focus in this role is the hiring, training and general policy making of our APPs.
