Professional Summary:

My clinical practice focuses on comprehensive treatment of knee and shoulder conditions. I returned back to my hometown in 2003 to join UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. I am currently a Clinical Associate Professor and full-time faculty member at the University at Buffalo as well as the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Director. I also serve as the Chief of Orthopaedics of the Kaleida Millard Fillmore Surgery Center. I chose the subspecialty of sports medicine because it allows me to return patients to a healthy, active lifestyle through diagnosis and treatment. My practice spans Western New York with clinical offices and surgery performed in Orchard Park, Amherst and Niagara Falls.

My patient population ranges from adolescents to adults and athletes from the weekend-warrior to the elite, professional athlete. I am currently the head team physician for University at Buffalo, Niagara University and Niagara Community College. At the professional level, I serve as the Assistant Team Physician for the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.

My surgical interests include ligament (ACL) reconstruction and meniscal work in the knee and rotator cuff, and instability in the shoulder. As director of the WNY Cartilage Restoration Center, I have a particular interest in knee cartilage preservation and restoration. The latest surgical technical advances and innovative research has allowed the center to provide the highest quality care for patients with injury and aging of the knee’s articular cartilage.

My full-time academic appointment and affiliation with UBMD has allowed me to remain active in the teaching and learning environment. I actively teach medical students, resident and fellows at UB. I feel this has allowed me to provide my patients with the highest level of care. My research efforts include studying the effects of different types of treatment options for both articular and meniscus cartilage injuries.

I am fortunate to be a part of the UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine group of physicians and to practice in my hometown. I enjoy being a part of the community and participating in the care of patients through the continuum of prevention, treatment and recovery of their injuries.
