Allergy/Immunology

We provide services for the clinical evaluation and management of pediatric and adolescent patients with asthma and allergic disease, as well as for patients with a history of recurrent infections and inherited immune deficiency disorders.

Pediatric Cardiology

We support families of patients with cardiac conditions and provide compassionate care for the individual patients suffering from congenital heart disease, starting in utero, infancy, childhood, and through adulthood.

Pediatric Critical Care

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Golisano Children’s Hospital is a 20-bed unit serving approximately 1,300 patients per year. As the only pediatric ICU in the Western New York area, this unit is well-equipped to care for the wide range of medical and surgical needs of its population.

Dermatology

The UBMD Pediatrics dermatology department focuses on diagnosing and treating skin, hair, and nail conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.

Developmental Pediatrics & Rehabilitation

Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Our faculty physicians supervise the child-friendly emergency department 24 hours a day in our free-standing children’s hospital providing pediatric-focused nursing, radiology services, child life, and social work.

Pediatric Endocrinology/Diabetes

Providing comprehensive care to infants, children and young adults affected by diabetes or hormonal (endocrine) disorders.

Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition

General Pediatrics

Serving WNY children and families at the Niagara Street Pediatrics and Broadway Pediatrics offices where we deliver community-based primary care and population health care to the inner-city. We also staff several school-based health clinics and the newborn nursery at Golisano Children’s Hospital and Millard Fillmore Surburban Hospital.

Genetics & Metabolism (Pediatric & Adult)

We provide clinical genetics services for children and adults.  We also educate medical students, residents, fellows and other learners through the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

When you trust your child’s cancer care to us, you are giving your child the tools needed to fight this battle with access to a team of pediatric experts who specialize in your child’s specific type of cancer or blood disorder.

Pediatric Hospital Medicine

A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in the care of patients that require admission to the hospital. Our field of practice focuses on providing the highest quality medical care to hospitalized patients. UBMD hospitalists cover more than 10,000 combined inpatient admission days per year.

Pediatric Infectious Diseases

Our specialists are available to help manage the complete spectrum of infectious diseases common to children. We teach graduate and medical students and perform 300 to 400 inpatient and outpatient consultations annually.

Neonatology

Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatric medicine that pertains to the care of critically ill newborns requiring specialized medical care. Newborns that require neonatal care include infants born prematurely or with low birth weight, term or preterm infants requiring surgical intervention, infants with congenital infection and infants requiring additional resuscitation at birth.

Pediatric Nephrology

A qualified and diverse staff provides comprehensive care to infants, children and adolescents with kidney disease who live in Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania through the Golisano Children’s Hospital Kidney Center.

Pediatric Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine

Evaluation and management of pediatric lung diseases (i.e. asthma, chronic cough, wheezing, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, recurrent pneumonia, neuromuscular weakness, and shortness of breath) as well as pediatric sleep disorders.

Pediatric Rheumatology

Pediatric Rheumatology provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for children with rheumatic and autoimmune diseases, as well as evaluation of unexplained musculoskeletal symptoms, rashes, and fevers.
